1. What ReplyChime does
ReplyChime is a Chrome extension that plays locally bundled sounds when a supported ChatGPT webpage finishes generating a response. It can show local reply-status information in its extension popup.
2. Information accessed on ChatGPT pages
On chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com, ReplyChime observes page elements such as message counts, assistant reply nodes, and Send/Stop controls to detect response progress. Its content script temporarily reads visible assistant reply text and computes an in-memory fingerprint using up to the last 256 characters of the reply to recognize changes. The fingerprint is not a copy of the full reply. This data is processed locally in the user's browser for reply-completion detection.
ReplyChime does not intentionally store conversation transcripts or fingerprints in persistent extension storage, and the inspected v1.8.3 extension does not include a publisher-operated endpoint for uploading chat text. Local monitoring may continue when automatic audio alerts are disabled so that the popup can display status.
3. Settings stored locally
The extension uses Chrome extension-local storage to remember the selected notification sound, volume, whether automatic alerts are enabled, and interface language. Temporary local diagnostic state may include counters, status events, timestamps and detected element labels. These are not intended to constitute a transcript of the conversation.
4. Audio playback and permissions
Notification sounds are bundled with the extension and played locally. The storage permission saves your preferences; offscreen supports background sound playback; access to supported ChatGPT domains enables the local detection feature. The inspected extension does not contain a third-party analytics SDK or ad-tracking integration.
5. Sharing and other services
Based on the inspected v1.8.3 code, ReplyChime does not send chat content to DESIVA STUDIOS, advertisers or data brokers, and does not sell user conversation content. ChatGPT is a separate service operated by OpenAI and has its own data practices. This website's hosting provider may process ordinary request information needed to serve and protect the website; the site does not include an analytics script or tracking-cookie code.
6. Control, retention, and removal
Users can change sound, volume, notification and language preferences from the popup. Local settings persist until they are changed, cleared or removed by Chrome. Uninstalling the extension normally removes its extension-local data. Turning sound alerts off does not necessarily stop local status monitoring.
7. Support requests
If you voluntarily email us for support, we receive the information in that message and use it to respond. Do not include sensitive chat transcripts, passwords or API keys in support requests. To ask about your data or make a privacy request, write to hello@desiva.co.
8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data accessed by ReplyChime is used only for the described reply-completion and local status functions, not for personalized advertising, data brokerage or credit evaluation.
9. Updates
This policy may change if the extension's behavior or data-handling practices change. Material changes will be reflected in an updated policy and, when required, in extension and store disclosures. This document describes the inspected ReplyChime v1.8.3 release candidate.
